Legacy Analog POTS Line Phase-Out Notification

Commencing October 15, 2025, AT&T will extend the scope of grandfathered wire centers that will no longer permit additions, moves, or changes on POTS phone lines.

With Monthly Recurring Costs (MRCs) on the rise for legacy POTS lines, users in affected areas will be required to shift to a POTS replacement solution.

For unaffected locations:

POTS Conversion to VoIP is still advised
• Also applicable for Frontier, Lumen, Verizon, etc…
• Transition time: 7–14 days

For affected locations necessitating a legacy POTS replacement solution:

VoIP POTS Replacement
• Fire & elevator compliant
• Phones function and resemble analog phones
VoIP Emulated POTS
• Operates over the customer’s existing internet
• Voice & fax solutions provided
• Phones function and resemble analog phones with enhanced flexibility
Voice Over Cable legacy POTS Replacement
• Operates over the carrier’s broadband internet service (Spectrum, Cox, Comcast)
• Phones function and resemble analog phones
